This book highlights a variety of container architecture projects, from a single container used for a temporary exhibition to thousands of containers forming a football stadium.
Invented in the 1950s by Malcolm McLean, these steel containers revolutionised global trade and have now become an important part of modern architecture. Their simple, geometric design makes them versatile and sustainable for many types of buildings.
Container buildings are used in creative ways, with some keeping their original, rugged look, while others feature wood facades, large glass windows, or minimalist designs with impressive lighting. This book explores the many possibilities of container-based architecture.
