Travel to a world of wonder and imagination with A. A. Milne's The Children's Cargo, as featured in Lady Cynthia Asquith's Annual, published by Eyre & Spottiswoode in 1923. This yearly collection of stories, poems, and illustrations brings delight to children and adults alike.
The Children's Cargo, written by beloved Winnie-the-Pooh author A. A. Milne, takes you on a magical journey aboard a ship carrying a cargo of fictional children's characters. Figures from your favorite children's stories magically come to life as the ship sails, including Alice, Tom Sawyer, Peter Pan, Mowgli, Heidi, and more.
Milne weaves imaginative tales of adventures the characters have together aboard the ship, acting out scenes and telling stories filled with fun, friendship, and wonder. His charming narrative and vivid descriptions masterfully transport you into this fantastical world inhabited by characters near and dear to readers' hearts.
The Annual in which this story appears also features artwork, stories, and poems from Cynthia Asquith and other notable English writers of the time. Perfect for children ages 8-12, this book invites families to read together and transports young minds to places of magic, mystery, and make-believe. Let Milne's The Children's Cargo carry you away on a delightful adventure through the realm of fictional childhood, where nostalgia and imagination merge amid skylarks and high seas.
