The EMPI 14.5" Foam Steering Wheel offers a classic high-performance look with an emphasis on driver comfort and leverage. Featuring a generous 4-inch deep dish, this wheel brings the rim closer to the driver—a popular setup for off-roaders, drag racers, and tall drivers looking to optimize their seating position.
The rim is finished in a durable, firm poly-foam that provides an excellent "tacky" grip, ensuring your hands don't slip during spirited driving. The three-spoke center is chrome-plated with weight-saving drilled holes, giving it that iconic 60s and 70s competition aesthetic that looks just as good in a street-legal Beetle as it does in a tube-chassis sand rail.
Key Features
-
Extra Deep Dish: The 4-inch offset provides maximum clearance for your legs and positions the wheel for better steering leverage.
-
Firm Poly-Foam Rim: Provides a comfortable, non-slip grip that is resistant to heat and easy to clean after a day in the dirt.
-
Classic Styling: Drilled chrome spokes offer a timeless "California Look" that complements any vintage air-cooled interior.
-
Standard 3-Bolt Mounting: Compatible with all standard 3-bolt steering wheel adapters, quick disconnects, and aftermarket steering shafts.
Vehicle Fitment
This steering wheel is a universal 3-bolt design. To mount it to a factory steering column, a vehicle-specific adapter (Boss Kit) is required.
| Application | Configuration | Recommended Use |
| VW Beetle / Ghia | Via 3-Bolt Adapter | Street / Cal-Style |
| Meyers Manx / Buggies | Via 3-Bolt Adapter | All-Terrain |
| Sand Rails / Rails | 3-Bolt Shaft / Quick Release | Off-Road / Racing |
| Baja Bugs | Via 3-Bolt Adapter | Heavy-Duty Steering |
Tech Tip: This listing is for the steering wheel only. If you are replacing a factory steering wheel, you will need to purchase a 3-bolt adapter kit and a horn button separately.
