For the first time in over 55 years, experience the most elusive episode of the original Hawaii Five-O series—"Bored, She Hung Herself."
Originally airing on January 7, 1970, this second-season episode was swiftly pulled from syndication and never seen again due to its controversial content.
When a young woman is found hanged, Steve McGarrett (Jack Lord) and his team investigate, uncovering a shocking connection to her boyfriend—a yoga instructor experimenting with a deadly form of self-asphyxiation. The chilling storyline led to real-world concerns, and CBS permanently banned the episode after reports surfaced that a viewer tragically attempted to replicate the depicted technique.
This long-lost episode stars Jack Lord, James MacArthur, Zulu, Kam Fong, and William Smithers, along with guest appearances by Don Quine, Eugene McDunnah, Pamela Murphy, Peggy Ryan, Patricia Herrman, Herman Wedemeyer, Ted Thorpe, Joel Berliner, and Harry Endo.
Due to its immediate removal from circulation, Bored, She Hung Herself was never included in syndication, streaming, or retail DVD releases of Hawaii Five-O.
Now, collectors and fans of classic television have a rare opportunity to own a piece of TV history—an episode so controversial it was erased from the airwaves. If you thought you had the complete series, think again!
